About Upgear.

How did Upgear start?

I felt a real sense of accomplished when I set up my own business as a sole trader designing websites. I was having driving lessons to prepare myself for when business got hectic and to give my wife a break from chauffeuring me around.

Learning to drive was an extremely valuable experience for me. It made me realise just how professional instructors are and how hard they work to keep their teaching standards high. For this reason I felt it was essential that Upgear provided greater benefits for driving schools and instructors than that was originally planned as it was mostly designed for learners. So that is what I did!

I think I speak for everyone, when I say that nobody enjoys slow loading, pop-up crazy websites that distract you from the information your trying to read. So with this in mind I set to work on designing a website which would have all the necessary content under one roof whilst maintaining a user-friendly outlook, fast loading & a non pop-up site!

Viola! Nine months later after much designing, testing, late nights, early mornings Upgear was launched!

So, who's it for?

Upgear is for everyone! Learners, instructors, driving schools or those wanting to learn about anything in connection with driving a motorised vehicle.

What is Upgear?

Upgear is a directory for schools of motoring, which provides information on all the different types of motoring schools such as Cars, Motorbikes, Off Road, Track, Buses and Lorries. One of the most important aspects of Upgear, is the directory itself. It lists the areas that driving schools cover throughout the UK, making it easy for learners to find a school to fit their specific needs.

Who runs Upgear?

Upgear has now become a family run business. Although I originally came up with the idea for Upgear, my wife has supported me throughout. We both spend a lot of our time together working on the website to improve features and to give you the best possible experience and customer satisfaction.

Upgears' Mission statement:

To help and assist all users to the best of our ability, especially learners and instructors by creating a community based website which is user friendly, fast loading, clear and accessible to all.
